Cold memories

by Michael   Nov 2, 2017

Our bodies-

slowly untwined.

Your body-

became awkward;
speaking in a language
that felt unfamiliar.
I had trouble-
understanding.

The warm intimacy that you
once wrapped me up-in,
started to fade.

Losing its colour
of sensuality.

You felt so distant;
lying right next to me.

you would kiss me-

with surreptitious lips;
that tightly held your secrets,
then, turning a blind eye;
to hide the whites of
your lies.

Lies-

uncovered; revealing
the harsh truth.

It felt like an icy draught;
sweeping through my life,
with sharp icicles that
fell from the ceiling;
penetrating a deep
bluntness right into me.

I was left naked;
shivering with
bitterness

my heart limped-
in my hollow body.

aching with every
beat.

    Michael, a heartfelt write about lost love and betrayal. It's so hard when the enemy lies right next to you. Hugs-

    Being betrayed by someone close to your heart is devastating it can crush you. Not to mention the trust and respect is gone. Thank you for sharing and I hope it is just a poem. Take care and hugs.
