Love

by Once an Angel   Nov 5, 2017

I cannot find it.
I cannot reach it.
I cannot wrap my hands around
to define it.
So. . .
illusive.
I knew it;
where is it?
I cannot say it,
cannot boil it down
to reclaim it.
I had it
until I lost it.
Did I ever have it?
Now the memories
have forgotten almost all about it -
the role it played,
a place now empty laid,
the hole it made,
a heart betrayed.

This is so excellent! You've managed to express something so complicated and the simplicity you've done it with is what makes this sing! :-) x

TA, wow I am so happy to come upon a new post from you. I love the brevity of the presentation of love in this piece. Your questions here are understandable...love is confusing isn't it? Wonderfully written.

Love a word consisting of four letters yet to me the most powerful of all. Often we look for love at all the wrong places and then when the least expected it hits us. Love is beautiful but also sad and when betrayed there may be no going back. A excellent write ad to my favorite. All the best
