Downfall

by MariAnn C.   Nov 5, 2017

Water dripping off the tiles
Hypnotic if you stare
Your mind drifts
Falling, twisting, turning
And ponders all meaning

Start from the bottem
Climb the summit
And have cold air hit your face
Snow in your hair
The iciness
Going deep into your lungs
You slip
And fall into a seemingly endless abyss
Hitting the bottom
With the force of a meteor

Now you are on the bottem
Starring into what seems like
A new impossible climb
And you have to weather the storm again
Being shaken around like your in a snowglobe
This is your life

The times are like
goldfish memories
Short lasting
Bad times can be
infinite
All the way down to your grave

The trick is
Clawing your way to the open air again

Excellent writing; I love the last eight lines. Very powerful.
