Loneliness' dark phantom.

by Justen Smith   Nov 7, 2017

Do you know loneliness,
She's my dearest friend,
Following closer to my back,
Than my own shadow,
Haunting me like a ghost,
Of Christmas past,
I believe I can fight,
It's looming darkness,
I raise my torch and shine it,
At that most vial phantom,
But the horrible thing about,
The darkness that stalks....
When you turn,
Shining the brightest light,
The darkness moves,
In an instant to your back,
As quick as you attack,
As fast as you face it,
It creeps up behind you,
Waiting......
Then in the briefest moment,
Of solace and reprieve,
It taps you on the shoulder,
And whispers into your ear,
"Don't forget you are alone"
"Don't forget"
"Don't forget"
"Don't forget

    Hi Justin

I resonate with this piece, and just wrote one with similar feelings around loneliness. Vey well put together which flowed all the way through. The ending is damning of this situation

Justen, a thought provoking write. That darkness can be quite a bugger can't it? Never forget you are never alone, we are all here for you. Take care -

Ever watching, ever waiting....and sadly consuming anything good.
