The Swerve

by Yakori bint Muhammed   Nov 9, 2017

19th October, 2017.

Until life's coordinates reroute our path,
I savour your silence with a thirst for you.
I'll revel to the starry skies twinkle
as the glint of your submerging eyes.
I'll lounge in the recess of the nights breeze
as the melodious chants of your prayers for me.
I'll bask to the warmth of the sunlight's rays
as the feel of your breath.
I'll beam to the moonlight's radiance
as the symbol of your pure love.
In meditation, i'll journey into your absence
to fit the puzzles of our paths.
I can feel your presence when my heart beats
to the rhythm of your footsteps miles away.
I can hear your laughter
enveloping me in daylights bustles.
I can perceive your scent lulling me
to sleep in the bliss of the nighttime.
I can feel your strokes
through the drizzles of springs showers.
Dancing to your invisible presence,
I smile to the sounds of natures call from you.
You're out there,
there you're treading towards me.
Answering to your souls needs
transmitting messages to me from yonder.
Walking, you seep through me in the winds of harmattan,
a step after the other.
Our test on this sphere of life would,
In shaa Allah bind us in the planes of the eternal.
Till we're graced by one another's presence.
Know that I accept you for accepting me
to go on a marital expedition with me, myself and I.

A lovely poem, Yakori, and a fine testament to the power of true love. It can cross the world - universes perhaps and never lose its essence.

    Beautiful write,

    Ben
