At Any Cost

by Guilty By Design   Nov 9, 2017

People want purity but does that still exist?
One way or another we’ve all been tainted.
Perfection comes with a bitter twist.
With misery, we’re far too well acquainted.

Is it possible there’s a purpose in life?
Since childhood we’ve been told fairytales.
Distractions, they are, for our every strife.
Growing up comes with horrid details.

Pretend, is that what we are supposed to do?
In this world it’s about survival of the fittest, after all.
There’s no innocence when it comes to me or you.
Move forward, if you can’t stand, you must crawl.

This resonates so much with me on so many years levels and I must say what dapper rhyming you've done :)
