She Loved, She Adored

by Mark   Nov 13, 2017

Those whimper wails - those windy moans
Nostalgic beasts it trails of sombre undertones,
Of wistful dancing on ochre spring leaves
My heart prancing, wrenched webs it weaves.
Rosed tokens of lust - did not sway her muse
Taken by a gust of another lipped fuse.

Those memories of old - dreams she held
Imprinted my mould, mournfully I shelled;
She loved white cranes, she adored flocks at dawn
Sun rays on the plains, cast light 'twas drawn.
She loved the bells, she adored her sacred church;
The ave sung spells, the tapping loose birch.

I attempted a sonnet - whispered each word
Lifted not her love bonnet; sentiments unheard;
She loved to rhyme, she passed my bleeding prose
Of her heart rung chime and blushing rose.
She loved to pine, she adored the moon
Not content with mine, on another she'd swoon.

I linger in an abyss - drenched in her wake
Of an apparition's kiss, remnants I sorely take;
She loved the rain, she adored dripping trees
That dribbled my pain and solemn pleas.
She loved another, and adored him truly
Ignoring these scars, patterned most unruly.

    A very romantic piece Mark, with such a sad end to your poem. Wonderful imagery as ever.

    The only slight feel I had reading this Mark is it lost its flow a little at times, purely from my perspective :)
    But really enjoyed the theme
    Michael :)

    Awwww. The hurt in here is so perfectly expressed, Mark. Ahhhh. Beautiful and painful. I just adore the beautiful tones of your pieces, this one took me back to A Winter Night, where I felt an intrinsic beauty in the sombre lines. Really well crafted.
