Sunrise (Gentle Eyes)

by IdTakeABulletForYou   Nov 15, 2017

I could not once revive your heart
after the break of day,
and such a wish would be in bliss
if I could have relayed:

No other soul under the moon
could shimmer quite that way
(but then the sun arose and, stunned,
your soul scampered away).

It would behoove my prior self
to see the sun arise,
yet come and gone now is the dawn
as are your gentle eyes.
