There Comes A Time (not a poem)

by CJ Maleney   Nov 16, 2017

There comes a time for everything.

We have no control of it, we can not gauge it, plan for it or control it. We try! but ultimately things just happen regardless of our endeavours and futile attempts to control things.

I do not believe in destiny, I do not believe in fate, I do not believe that things happen for a reason! Things just happen. whatever the cause or effect, regardless of act or omission, things just happen!

You can't choose when you are born and if you die naturally, you can't choose that either. You can not choose who you will love and you can't choose who you will hate. You have no control over these things. They will happen regardless of how strong or weak you are.

You can try to ignore, you can try to change but you are who and what you are. You are the way you were designed to be. I think we need to accept this "you are who you are". If others don't like who you are, tuff sh!t they ultimately have no control either. If they are trying to control you they have no control over themselves.

Things just happen, sometimes good, sometimes bad. When the bad stuff comes your way, you have to suck it up and deal with it. This is what defines us.

When the good stuff comes your way enjoy it, relish it and always bloody remember it. There is a lot of hurt and bad stuff out there and you can't control it, stuff just happens! So when the good stuff happens, for god sake hold onto it. It may be fleeting it may be lost eventually, but remember it and hold it forever.

There comes a time for everything. When your time comes remember the good times and forget the bad.

Peace out

Craig

I agree with a lot of this Craig, and I think life feels worse when you expect it to be good, rather than accepting that it's mostly hard with some shining jewels cast throughout. But those jewels are worth so much, and while I agree that there's no destiny or fate, I do think that we can still make good things happen when we try and strive and do our best whenever possible. That's not fate, it's achievement.
And yes ... you can only be you, and others can only be themselves, and any attempts to change someone will always end in tears! Very thought-provoking! :-) x

This was the result of a late night non sleeping thought process, found it in drafts next day so figured I would share. Well aware many won't agree though.
