The Three-minute Song

by Mortal Utopia   Nov 20, 2017

Your voice was like the autumn wind,
warm and soft – soft enough to melt into tears
and to fall like rain amongst the pianist’s arpeggios.

It was a world of whispered thoughts:
melodious, refrained, enigmatic.
It was a world only three minutes in length,
ending too soon –

like that time when reality faded too soon
into memories,
and I just kept on wishing
Time would forget about itself
and smile with us

for the rest of eternity.

Mortal Utopia, some things are so beautiful that they hurt, like this piece.
