The next stage

by Michael   Nov 21, 2017

I stumbled upon the stage of trepidation-
falling-tripping; fumbling my
direction.
I would rise to my feet and begin
walking backwards;
To one end and the other.

Reaching-
the edges of my sanity!

I was exposed under the spot-light,
but, I was not a shining example.
My performance was on trial
to live or die!

The moon was fading quickly,
a darkened mood, arose; casting
doubt-
shadows of contempt, taking
a tight grip around my throat!

I felt the weight of the final
curtain-falling heavy;
like a guillotine.
Cutting me free, from my role-
however!
out of the picture for good!

But!

I.

I, have chosen-
to unlearn theses lines,
and rewrite a new script...

...and I.

will be my lead-role.
