Mirage

by Mortal Utopia   Nov 22, 2017

Your warmth
was like the melodious whispers of a harp –
alluring, nostalgic

and distant.

Your eyes –
I always saw invisible tears in them,
like watery illusions

deep, deep in the desert.

But sometimes I wonder
if the pain I saw in you
was just a strange, heavy veil

clouding my eyes and all they see.

The imagery in this poem is splendid and the comparisons, beautiful and captivatingly. There is a certain beauty in it, something enchanting, which I'm not able to describe here at all. Maybe it's this mirage you've created which has left me wondering if I really did read an enchanting poem or was it all a mirage. An overall well written poem.
