I WILL GRANT YOU FIFTEEN MORE YEARS!

Based upon the Bible character, King Hezekiah.

A mighty King was he, zealous to carry out the Will of God, he torn down many Idols he found wherever he trod, there was no King like him, before or after. He kicked the butts of the Philistines, a powerful enemy of Israel, he was always victorious, God was always with him much to his enemy’s chagrin! If he trusted God, no enemy could set a foot in his yard, but being human he wavered in his faith, when he went astray the enemy was found at his Gate.

When Sennacherib King of Assyria captured all the Cities of Judah, Hezekiah was filled with much fear, he sent a messenger to Sennacherib an offer that would be a delight for him to hear. For the Assyria King to withdraw from Judah, Hezekiah gave him all the treasures that Israel had within, it didn’t take long that Hezekiah would experience fear again and be singing a different song.

Envoys from the King of Babylon were sent to Hezekiah, he capitulated and showed them all the storehouses filled with grain, fruit, silver, jewels, and gold, when Isaiah the Prophet asked Hezekiah what he had told them, Isaiah gave a prophecy that all his treasure and some of his Sons would be carried off to Babylon. Before all this took place, Hezekiah was told by God’s Prophet Isaiah, that *God was going to take him home and to set his house in order, but he fell down and wept bitterly, so much so that God sent Isaiah back to him before he left.

The Lord said; I have heard your prayers and I have seen your tears, and I will grant you fifteen more years. (Doubtful, he asked the Lord for a sign, to move back the Sun’s shadow 10 steps, so God moved the Sun’s shadow back 10 steps on his stairs) Hezekiah had been deathly ill with a boil, Isaiah said to place a cake of figs on the boil, he recovered, after he did, in a short time he was feeling fine.

* From what we have read, Hezekiah would have avoided the terrible results of his disobedience if he had died when the Lord had planned it for him, Father knows best! I am awestruck that the Lord is his loving kindness would move the Sun back for King Hezekiah who at times became unfaithful but as His Nature, God remained Faithful. Also, as Genesis had said that certain Herbs and Plants would be for healing, even today, figs are used to draw out poisons and infections, my advice, don't get boils! My brother Bob and I used to swim in a polluted tidal creek, near some refineries, shortly after we both got huge ugly boils that my brother had to have surgery to remove.

Isaiah 57:1-2 The righteous perish,
and no one takes it to heart;
the devout are taken away,
and no one understands
that the righteous are taken away
to be spared from evil.
2Those who walk uprightly
enter into peace;
they find rest as they lie in death.

    Dear Ken thank you for sharing and I have to agree that healing is a process and it does take time. All the very best to you

    Dear Ken, did you know these very verses are the ones I had printed out for grandma's wake? It is very comforting to know that death is rest and God's way of sparing us from the evils of this world. But the healing process does take time. This made my heart smile.

    Thank you for sharing this and I hope to share this with my family in church.

    P. S. Love you. ;-)
