Autumn Leaves

by Art K. aka CritiqualDad   Nov 23, 2017

As the leaves start to wither and rot
The tree realizes he has to let them fall
No matter how hard he would've fought
If he fights alone, it would be just to stall

Can't afford to waste any more energy
Though the thoughts won't go away
Be strong for the winter, let it be
Keeping busy not to go astray

People whisper 'you deserve better..'
As if deaf, the tree doesn't seem to hear
Maybe being reminiscent of a letter
Just makes it all kinda worse to bear

But he didn't just lose the leaves in vain
Beautiful ones will grow, green and pure
Valuable lessons are learned from pain
That's the only thing that's for sure.

Wow! This is amazing.. As kitty cat lady said it makes you think of the past but there's no point dwelling on the mistakes we've made
