Role model

by more den just a broken smile   Nov 25, 2017

Your suppose to be a role model
But u wer far from that
Drinking & sleeping seem better in fact
When we wer all together, you’d moan & cry, telling us we ruined your life, and u wanted to die.
It was a horrible feeling to see your mother fall apart
That’s why I grew up with a broken heart.
It wasn’t until I was 20 that ever felt happy, but u didn’t like it
You became even more snappy
You never said u wer proud of me as I overcame the demons, now I live life without you, cuz u won’t fight ur demons
When things start to look up for me,
U pushed me away, il never forget that day...

The lasting effect our parents can have on us is often all consuming. While that can be a positive thing, the flipside is that it can cause terrible damage also.
    A well expressed piece indeed.
