Seasonal Beauty

by Emily Wacker   Nov 25, 2017

Your smile fuels my hope,
Even when I think that there is no chance in the world that something may be possible,
There's you.

You're always there,
Close enough that you seem touchable,
Yet just far enough away that you're out of my reach.

I reach and I reach,
I reach like I'm grasping at my last breath.
A breath so humbling and sweet, it tastes of flowers.

Your presence is like a flame,
bright, warm, and it melts me.
Summer heat.

Your eyes are pure water,
blue, calming, and they sparkle.
Spring showers.

Your hands are like leaves,
graceful, full of movement, and capture my attention.
Autumn leaflets.

Your smile is that of snow,
crisp, chilling, and glistens in light.
Winter simplicity.

To me, you are the seasons, my dear.
