Why am I crying

by Dagmar Wilson   Nov 27, 2017

I woke up this morning
with my eyelids swollen
thanking God for 63 years.
Where did the time go?.

Fall colors have faded
most trees are naked,
I am still here.
Why am I crying?.

I am flipping through pages
of endless lessons
dumb decisions, poor choices
climbing mountains and trying to jump off bridges.
Why am I crying?.

I am crying because
pulling through painful seasons
overcoming major storms,
no longer blowing black tar in to my lungs,
getting rid of empty bottles
being thankful to those who put up with my nonsense.

Today a smile is wiping my tears
I am blessed for being here.

Awww Ms. Dagmar I hope to come out as victorious as you are. You are crying because you are strong. This is quite personal to you but it moved me because it is great to know a person as experienced in life as you are. Wishing more and more birthdays to come. Happy birthday!

Oh Dagmar! You have every right to cry those tears. You are a survivor and a fighter and you've been through the fire and came out standing. Hugs my friend-
