Vulture

by Mark Rawlins   Dec 8, 2017

There's a circling vulture
over this city's culture
that's been shat on and spat on for years.

It claims dancing and prancing
can put some romance in
to the stench, the decay and the tears.

It says juggling and clowning
could bring a few pounds in
and that poetry can save the day ....

But it will leave some art
when it's ripped out our heart
and our soul just gets carried away.

I love the tone and pace of this brilliantly rhymed piece Mark, you're a bit of a cynic, but I get it and enjoy your point of view :-) x
