This is how I unfold our love

by Amrita Singh   Dec 12, 2017

Recapitulating from its birth
to its demise
We deep-rooted it
Nurtured it
It blossomed
It grew
Like a healthy and happy plan
withstanding all the phrases
It sustained to grow its parts
but
couldn't resist the hurricane
of altered feelings
Deprived of love and warmth
it uprooted itself
Withered and decayed
Its parts crumbled into million shards
Pleaded to bloom again.

    Sub judge Comment:

I’ve read poems which describes what love is about and
how it works. This though is different. I like the usage of language,
the metaphors and the simplicity of it. We all have different
views about love and this speaks how love can be nurtured
and perhaps healed…a very nice read!
