Infection

You can't put me on hold
While you search for your direction
You seem happy to drain my soul
But offer me no affection

He is no one that you know
But suddenly he's your selection
Only a moment it took to decide
For you both to become a connection

Although you still tip toe
Because you're afraid of rejection
It's so obvious to me
He just wants to add to his collection

So I'll just let you go
And carry out your deception
See how long it takes you
To discover your correction

Don't come crying to me
Sobbing your objection
Only then you will finally see
That you are not perfection

I wonder what it would be
Not satisfied with his projection
Or maybe you are just upset
As your senses still lack detection

One day you will learn
Love is a two way reflection
I hope the next person you try to fool
First gives you a close inspection

I think this is very clever job Walter. Your rhyme scheme is not really perfect but it does not sound forced which as Em says, is like music to my ears. The title is just clever and it's amazing how you dropped it at the end of the poem. It worked well. Lovely.

Thank you mossgirl19. I am grateful for all your comments. This was one of those rhymes that literally wrote itself as I put pen to paper.

Oh my word Walter! Never mind the content, which is so cuttingly perceptive ... your rhyming is flawless! I don't think I've ever seen such a structure like this. Genius! :-) x
