The clock on the wall

by Thomas Key   Jul 10, 2004

The clock on the wall
shows me the time,
how much there is,
or how little there is.

The clock on the wall ticks away,
reminding me of the time I have left,
Telling me I need to be with my friends,
ticking constantly, giving me no extra time.

The clock on the wall counts down the time,
making it seem like forever,
when it is only a few days.

The clock on the wall is just a clock,
but the time is not just time.

I'm out of time,
the clock on the wall proves that,
the clock on the wall shows it,
the clock on the wall reminds me,
of the time Ive wasted,
the time Ive spent,
doing stupid things,
instead of being with my friends.

The clock on the wall is ticking.
My time is ending,
its almost over.

The clock on the wall will strike 6am,
when i have to board my flight,
when I have to say goodbye.
In eight days.

The clock on the wall will tell me its time to go,
and when it does,
I know its what I have to do.

So I'm counting down the time on that clock,
watching it go by.
The clock on the wall....
is still ticking....even now.
