Spring cleaning

by Dagmar Wilson   Jan 5, 2018

When you were laying on the ground
taking your last breath
who was the one closing your eyelids?.
It wasn't me.

You were my friend
partner in crime,
our eyes were the window to each others soul.

I am ready, please forgive me
everything with your name, smell
a single fingerprint
is moving in to a box.
You are not coming back.

Time for spring cleaning
the windows are open
curtains are flapping,
let the fresh air come in.
