Wings Of My Prayer:

If I could bring you back
With words of compressed air,
I'd book you the next flight
On the wings of my prayer.

I'd send it first class
From the depths of my Soul,
With the GPS set
And on cruise control.

With a whispered roundtrip ticket
Affixed to flocked feathers,
That's plastered with sound waves
Not printed up letters.

I'll be down on my knees
So it arrives in grand fashion,
Greeting St. Peter at the Pearly Gates
Then onto the Mansion.

After my guardian Angel receives it
And it's handdelivered to God,
Securely in his possession
Against all wishful odds.

My winged prayer is then granted
And regifted to me,
On the breath of the wind
With a safe travelling plea.

When I spot my Nanny returning
I'll weep tears of delight,
For all my dreams will be answered
From this lone Heavenly flight.

For my Life has been empty
Without my Grandmother around,
Twenty two long years
Of yearning her down.

So I'll crisscross my hands
Begin praying again,
And I'll finish it up
With a grateful amen.
