Dark side of the moon

by naaz   Jan 23, 2018

And she asked me today,
"what inspires you to write?"
Well, in the mist of darkness,
love could be your only light.

What would have happened if it hadn't kissed
the words in-between those poems of mine?
Without its touch, they would have never
been so beautiful or just too good to rhyme.

I find myself, these days,
too deep into this ocean of love.
Countless times, I have seen that
magical place and fell from the above.

Since the truth is, it's everywhere,
I guess I will reach there very soon.
I have seen all of its colors, not just red or blue,
even the dark side of the moon.

A love poem taken from a different view point. There is a sense
of mystic feel in it a tenderness in the way it has been written/spoken.
I also the subtle rhymes weaved into this write and the touch of
    romance entwined with nature...lovely read!

Thank you for the in depth comment on my write...appreciate it :)

This poem seems to be straight forward but as everyone has said it really is a beautiful poem.

Stanza one- I always love poems that start with "And" because it always feels like you are jumping into a conversation. And the second line enhances this because you actually add dialogue to it. This start seems to be about love overcoming darkness. I do like how you used the word mist but darkness is blinding and so is mist in a way.

Stanza two- I love this stanza because again it is a great continuation of the first. I think the reader can safely assume this poem is inspired by the love they hold within or the loce of another or just love of poetry itself. Just by what is written so far i think its the love you have of poetry itself.

Stanza three- This stanza is cliched but its written well, but i think this stanza is about how sometimes love can make us fall deeply and sometimes too deeply. You have obviously fall a few times and have seen what it can do.

Stanza four is my favorite because really does wrap the poem up nicely. I think this is talking about anyone falling in love and that love has a light and darker side.

I feel like the "she" in the beginning is the person this poem is about and the one who inspires you to keep writing. But i love this poem because it can be interpreted in many different ways. Great write.
