This is so swoon worthy....I felt your longing for what was, what is no longer, what you wish is now. This write flows like water, just beautiful.

SG, you have become one of my most favorite poet on this site. I don't know, but after reading your poems I do not stop myself from nominating them for the weekly contest.

I have saved all your poems. I read this poem many times, but the only thing I didn't get was the title. Why is it desert rose?

I totally got the emotions of the poem, like, it's about someone you met on some site, some place. You got to know her or fell in love with her but you never got the chance to see her, hear her voice, her laughs, in real.

First part says, that you never got the chance to hear her voice but you find listen her in every beautiful thing around you. The imaginary in first part of the poem is mostly audio, but it did create a visual imaginary too in eyes of the reader. The early songs of the birds, peace of the noon, a melodious evening you spent in Paris, but my favorite part is the last line that even you are alone in your life you don't feel that way. You never give up because she is keeping you alive. Her voice made you immortal.

Second part says, that you got to know her for a very small time or you had been in touch with her for a while but she changed you completely. You believe in the smile of the strangers, you feel love and joy inside you, she has given a purpose to your soul, your life. And she is the one who makes you feel complete in this crazy world around you. Imaginary in this part is mostly sensual.

Third part says, that she is in kind of danger. She, who has brought smile upon your face is in sorrow now. She who has given words and emotions to your poems is in pain now and she is tired of running and hiding because the evilness of politics around her has cut off the wings of your Goddess. Imaginary in this part is sensual, tactile, visual too.

Last part says, that you are trying to tell her that she is a very brave person, she is perfect and there is no need for her to feel lonely because there are plenty of angels that are looking over her and obviously you are there too, praying for her safety and wellness even though you are miles away from her. The last line of the poem Cleary explains that why you never met her in real because she doesn't want it. But you never stopped loving her. The imaginary in this last part of the poem is just beautiful.

SG, I request you, never stop writing.

Hi naaz, thanks once again for giving your time to read and leaving such good comment. I don't know if I did justice to the title but this poem is not about a person it is about a country, Syria.

It's good to see that you still have the image of her in your heart like she used to be.

      Great!
