Blank Canvas

by CJ Maleney   Feb 24, 2018

Staring at that canvas
Nothing falls into the groove
Then something clicks and grips me
My fingers start to move

Not sure what will come
It is a balance of dark and light
The difference in hues of colour
I turn to black and white

I don't just see in black and white
I see the different shades
I see much more than most can dream
Colour not obscuring gaze

So I will draw life in shades
What my eye believes to be true
Never look at things with blinkered eyes
But see what is there for you

I really like how you manage to pull off with all the
perfect rhymes without it been forced. It reads smoothly
and at the same time takes the reader along with you on
    your thoughts...like surfing.

As for the poem, yes nothing seems straight forward and
nothing is black and white if we just learn to put our prejudices
aside all will be clear...that is what I get form this delightful read!

Amen Craig, amen. Nothing in this world is black and white. So made shades and hues, well done-

Fifty shades of Craig, lol. This is a great piece, lovely flow and rhyme and I agree, even with colour, it's the shades that give dimension. :-) x
