Tainted Lullaby

by Maple Tree   Feb 26, 2018

Upon a magical notion
thy ears deceived my heart,
destroying crossed fingers;
unraveling mysterious conversation.

Dangling from tangled, webs, weaved;
I fell from a broken bough,
an endless lullaby,
Into a field of scattered roses...

I can still hear mother singing, softly
as the nightmares continue.

    The image here is tender, soft and heartfelt yet
    its painful then painful when coupled with memories...

    This is brilliant Andrea, the realisation that the lullabies of our childhoods, sung in our mothers sweet voices, can be so horribly twisted in reality.
