This is not a love poem
I've not much to say on the topic of that
I've loved and lost - but mostly lost
Things I never had to begin with
Talk about sunk costs
They couldn't stay afloat
or keep their head out of water
like lambs to the slaughter
the chickens and the cows -
the soft sleeping quiet and the loud
Mezzo piano, sharp clanging keys is your forte
I'm a natural at falling flat
In the key of A major
Pain in my side -
slip in my slide
I spy, I spy with my little eye
no immediate resolution to any of this at all
"You always cause trouble" he says
"Please don't rock the ship"
"we've braced for the unthinkable
but not for your shit"
Leave me or love me, dear
but they're far from the same, I fear.
Hi there,
I'm writing this message because I just want to say
If you're leaving tomorrow, that means tonight we'll stay
together, forever, or until the clock strikes midnight
I always lose my slippers just as things start to feel right.
