I Wish We Had Aged Like Wine

I thought it was meant to be.
I guess some would have called it destiny.
But it seems that the universe had different plans.
I moved across the country and married a stranger; my best friend.

Three years of us talking online.
The grass always looks greener, Especially this time.
Daddy warned me, your mama fell in love.
I guess it was bound to happen, when push come to shove.

After 8 months, attention drifted to video games.
The compliments ended, All other relationships had been the same.
It was bound to happen, how could I have thought it was meant to be?
A lesson well learned, one I wish I had not had to see.

    A sad thing to go through, but I'm glad you've found someone to share interests with. And i agree, playing video games with your other half can be pretty fun! It's one of my favorite pass times lol

      Thank you! I have always loved video games, but I would also like to actually play TOGETHER instead of always having to watch lmfao. I, unfortunately, have no idea how to write all of my thoughts about my divorce down yet.

    I feel like we live in an age where men are allowed to be boys. Honestly reading the part about the videogame getting more attention pissed me off. You're better off, and I'm glad you could see that. It takes a man to take care of a family.

      I dealt with it for far longer than I ever should have. I have met someone who treats me pretty damn good, and it feels amazing to know that we can play video games together and it ends up being one of the best "Hang out" times in our free time.
