Twist of Fate

by Walter   Mar 17, 2018

I've made my way up the track
On my trusty mountain bike
Even though the hill is very steep
There was no way I was going to hike

The view from up here is amazing
But the track is hidden with ease
Trying to remember its miander
Inclination of 45 degrees

Pausing to convince my mind
And for adrenalin to kick in
I release my hands off the brakes
Wheels aready starting to spin

Holding firmly onto the bars
Resisting temptation to slow
As I turn into the first corner
And see dirt thrown all over below

A low branch that I have to duck
Change gears now to incease speed
Avoid the boulder to the right of me
I'm determined only to succeed

Braking hard now through the bend
Turning sharply for the long straight
Which way did I have to turn again?
Instincts take over as I can't wait

Relief as the path nears the end
All the twisty turns now left behind
I can't help but smile as I'm conviced
This the best exercise form that you'll find

Relief there because you're alive I should think Walter! I'd be so worried about falling off! So, flying and mountain biking ... you're an adrenalin junkie! You make it sound great fun and as usual, your descriptions take us with you. Great stuff! :-) x
