Missing you

by Gwenyth Hill   Apr 1, 2018

From the moment I saw you
You stole a piece of my heart
Now that you’re gone for good
Where do I begin to start?

To say how much
you affected my life
Just by living beside me
Alleviating my strife

With that happy energy
That always surrounded you
When I needed it most
When I was feeling blue

To my brightest spark
Thanks for spending your life with me
Wherever you are now
I hope you’re happy

To my dog: February 21 2007 - April 1 2018

Gwenyth, I am so sorry to read this. I often think losing a pet is harder than a human. Dogs especially are loyal, which cannot always be said about humans.

Our dog knows what we are feeling, his empathy clearly shown in the eyes, or with a lick or a wag of his tail. From your poem, I can see the bond was similar. How can we not become attached to them?

    Again, I am sorry.

    Take care.
