The Calm Before The Storm

by CJ Maleney   Apr 23, 2018

For what reason am I outcast.
Evil and dark? Liar? Or a spinner of truths?
Am I all I perceive myself to be?
Am I less or more?

I wait quietly, brooding.
There will be a time for silence to splinter,
Like trees touched by lightning's fingertips.
Seas of calm will bubble and boil.

Retribution will not follow me, for it is I.
Nothing is unobserved or ignored,
Overlaying intentions do not distract,
Truth will out.

Measure actions, not assumptions
For a cloud a silver lining, every storm an eye.

And always an eye for an eye

Craig, this is excellent. I wish I had a nomination left but I'm sure someone will see fit to use one of theirs on this poem. A different sort of feel to this that I really enjoyed.

    All the best as ever

      Cheers dude

Wasn't sure where this one was going, it kinda ran away with itself. But I quite like it's little bit of sinister
