Rebuilding

by Valiantpenguin   Apr 27, 2018

I tore down the foundation of where we began in that taco bell booth so long ago
Where once we stood as high school sweethearts
Now we stand in limbo
I long to believe the things you say
Knowing full well they may not last much longer

I believe anyways that this new foundation will be stronger
Regardless here I am
I cannot turn from you any more than I could turn from my own soul

Because we are one.

No matter how we might fight it
This is where we belong
Together

Building new walls, laying new floor plans
Creating a home in ourselves, and each other
that we never knew before
