LIFE?

LIFE?

What is life, organic matter bound to be served on a platter? Things that walk on all fours and guard your doors? A walking talking two-legged thing you knew on a fling, and liked to hear them sing? A charming person you came to adore, but not happy when at night they snore!

The gorilla walks upright like you and me, but does he sit down to wee wee, does his wife complain; hey Sid, lift the lid? We all run on electrical energy produced by food you see, a big burger and fries will give you many miles walking under the skies but when sleep is needed, you have trouble closing your eyes, from your gut comes many sighs.

I wonder if the animals have dreams, does the dawg dream about a big bone, and the kat dreams about just wanting to be left alone? Do the owls dream of not only asking who, but what? Do the storks dream of charging for deliveries, and, the male songbirds dream that with the female, their tune be heard.

We humans are unique, at times we fight at the wink of an eye, but some just turn the other cheek, so to speak. We fear death and bad breath, we buy grave sites hoping never in them to lie, take every kind of pill not to get ill, it used to be the snake oil that gave the crowd the thrill.

We have a marvelous brain that can produce many a sweet refrain, and it can take us on imaginary journeys, memories of special moments, tears, and joy in the mid- summer’s rain. True life is how you live it, to enjoy it fully, you must give it!

Thanks for that, Kereen, btw, when we were in Jamaica, the weather prevented us from the most popular areas but we were able to go to Saint Mary's and to the house where Churchill planted a foot high tree that now is about 30 feet tall. My wife attended a Cooking Class there, and made some traditional Jamaican dishes.
