A plate full of it

by Dagmar Wilson   May 14, 2018

I have taken on this journey
a road I have travelled down numerous times,
a cul de sac, me going around in circles.
I am scared, I definitely am.

What do they want
it's not what I need,
this daily drama is making me sick.

Right, wrong
I have made a promise to myself,
no more engaging in foreign affairs.
Who am I fooling?.

This plate sitting in front of me
is loaded with calories of garbage,
doing the right thing is backfiring again.

A thought inspiring piece that has many depths. Life can be scary and for some strange reason often doing the right thing can backfire but it shouldn't stop you for standing up for what you believe in because sometimes putting your neck out can make a real difference and to do nothing changes nothing. I really enjoy reading your poetry Dagmar it is profound. All my best wishes Milly x
