fire and ice (decuain)

by Mr. Darcy   May 15, 2018

.
forbidden shards shatter an unseen eye -
reflected, there's a razor's at his throat.
Almighty shall not hear a pitied cry -
God stirs the fateful ink into the moat,
inside these watered walls, read what he wrote:
"Libellous verse be still, or murdered now -
evoke remorse Satan before you choke"
-
evoke, he did, a vengeful worded vow:
"go now Divine, let fire feed your sighs -
or for eternity, be petrified!"

Excellent, Michael; I thought you would be a dab hand at this form, given the meter. I do spot only 9 syllables in lines 1 and 6, though.

    Take care

I remembered Dr. Faustus dealing with the devil when I read this. I think that aside from Ben P. you also have a sickness for rhythm Mr. Darcy! You pulled this form off without 'a single hiccup'.
