An icy flame of love

by julian   May 23, 2018

?Blue eyes,
Clearer than the sky,
When I see them,
They make mine shine.

We've had our problems,
Our ups and downs,
Our relationship has been a rollercoaster,
But not the kind that feels like a fork in a toaster,
Something much closer,
Something hitting me like a bulldozer,
Clearing away my thoughts,
Yet filling them all the same.

Last thing I want to give you is more pain,
Yet my heart is yelling over the thoughts of my head,
Yearning for what could be,
Yet filling dread,
Will we screw up again?
Or end up snuggled in bed?

What happens happens and we will see,
I'm most scared of hurting you,
Yeah that's right,
You not me.

Love's a dicey old game, isn't it? But, as cliched as this sounds, if we don't play, we can never win.

Take care and all the very best,
