shine

Let me see your brilliance
Let me see your light
Do not fade to nothing
I want to see you fight

Do not accept things as final
Never think that "you can't"
I know you have the strength inside
And I know that you have heart

Never think that you are worthless
Everyone has skills and traits
They may be held in check and hidden
But just unlock those gates.

Let everything free to fly
Never let people clip your wings
Things won't always go to plan
But enjoy the little things

To fail is not a bad thing
Though being humbled can cause pain
Just pick yourself up dust yourself down
And then you try again.

You may still fail and fail again
But that's just part of the fight
But when you win and you excel
That's when we see your light

    Love this! Great motivational poem.
We all need a reminder from time to time that ''we can'' and that we're good enough as we are.
Your spot on, you musn't compare your strengths to other peoples. An easy trap to fall into!
Pushing through negativity and discovering your own potential is a battle worth fighting :)
You've put into words an inward battle we all face at many points throughout life.
    Nice one!

      Hey Bren.

This is a poem I wrote for or perhaps more so about many people.

It's about getting over and past the "i can't do this" attitude.

You can do anything if you really want to.

I don't know if this is for your girl, Craig, but I can imagine it might be. Ultimately, though, it doesn't really matter if it is or isn't - it's an inspirational piece.

    Take care

      Hey up dude.

This was born due to a canoe and kayak course I taught a few weeks ago.

I was a bit out of my depth on this weekend as I had a young person who endures autism and a bunch of other things going on also.

Despite his problems and my inexperience with such things he achieved a nationally and internationally recognised qualification.

Chuffed to bits for the kid.

      Regards

      Craig
