Feeling Freely

by Kitty Cat Lady   Jun 5, 2018

The terrible tragedy of telling the truth
The love that's lost when lips are loose
The drink that drained the dam of deceit
The song that silenced the secrets that seeped

The burden of biting the bile of betrayal
The frowning and fighting the fun as it failed
The guilt of giving to get gratitude
The monotonous moan of your maudlin mood

The chiming choice  of channelling change
The alternative accommodation to arrange
The glorious gaining of gratuitous glee
The frivolous feeling to finally be  free!

Freedom is often the hardest thing to gain, regardless of whether it be emotional or physical. Either thing is an emotional and turbulent battle.

Sometimes freedom can be as much of a curse as it can be a cure. On reading this I think it is perhaps your cure.

I loved the construction of this poem and the emotions it conveyed.

I vaguely remember when you first joined us on PnQ. In such a short space of time your rhymes and skills in other areas have improved ten fold. You have always had the ability to convey things but now you are doing so flawlessly.

Well In my humble opinion anyway.

    Keep it going

As Ben pointed out, nice rhyme and alliteration. I also liked the meter - it made me nod like a Churchill dog! Lol x
