Just One Day (perhaps the last)

by CJ Maleney   Jun 5, 2018

I need but one day.
Just one will do just nicely,

For now!

A time for me to forget,
A time for me to remember!
A time to feel removed.

Completely so.

A day attired in black
To perhaps! appear menacing to others.
The black is my my second skin.
The black is my skin and my protection.

Yet It does not protect from all.

Serene and relaxed in my administrations,
Everything calculated and executed.
Minimal thought, just instinct.
Just me and the beast.

Both inside and out!

Thirst, desire and need must be sated.

A day of power, a day of precision.
One day leather clad and booted.
The mountains and lakes stretching ahead,
Tarmac glistening like black rivers in hell.

No ferry man to pay as yet.
I've already paid before!
The river was cheated,
But oh how the river took me.

Yet!

It spat me back, albeit broken and bruised.

Come visit again it taunted.
Pain and suffering are nectar to me.
Death is final, pain and suffering are!

lingering!

The black river calls to me even now.
I know it has places to take me.
Places I have never seen.

Perhaps one day! My own demise.

Yet I can't ignore the calling.

"See you soon"

Living near the Southdown national country park, motorcyclist pass me by in their droves. I must admit, I would love to learn, or at least travel as a passenger. In the summer, there must be no better way to travel these back roads.

I like your poem, your alter-ego. Although it is full of darkness, there is freedom expressed too. Wanting death, but life too.

    Very enjoyable - thanks.

      Learn!

You can get your CBT for under 200 quid and it's only a days course. That will entitle you to ride a 125cc bike which will have a top speed of about 70 unless you can get an older bike that's been looked after. My 92 plate kmx125 would do 97.

But to be fair 70 is often fast enough on the twisties.

Glad you liked the poem fella
