Reminiscence

by Doodle   Jun 10, 2018

What is the sound of a heart that’s bursting,
but a mere recollection of a bygone time?
A time where the bird’s wings kept flapping,
and the hairs kept embracing the ends of mine.

Could this recollection of the pain which surface,
lead to the rekindling of the dear departed highs.
Even if the absence would make me feel,
like the first time, it made me lose my sight.

A lovely write! I love this. The flow is perfect, the rhymes are good, plus the sad message of the poem. Remembering times gone but and thinking if they can happen again... Well done!
