SOWING AND REAPING

SOWING AND REAPING

It’s a choice, but conscience also has a voice. The eye beholds the beautiful wonders of the endless sky, reaping much joy, the Soul is at rest, and whole. But when the eye beholds that which leads to sin, a raging war with the Soul will begin, the conscience screams out; please, don’t give in!

But alas, I did yield, on one balmy day in May, it was in the fields that our lust did flutter for one another. She was a young maiden, full of fun and glee, and, big time attracted to me. I took advantage of this, and after our first kiss of bliss, we sowed the wild oats together in the heather.

Our momentary pleasures ended when her parents were offended, and when she died, our stillborn baby was buried by her side, like the ancient King David, for nights, I cried.

One cold dark rainy night, a knock on my door brought an unusual sight, a young woman stood, baby in arms, she said; I implore you please take my son, he is autistic, and I cannot take care of him anymore.

With my many prayerful tears I begged God for help for my son, and he told me that you were the one. I was compelled to adopt him, he was just two years old, a cute as a button child, whenever I looked at him, he would always smile. Though he spoke few words, he mastered the iPhone’s many games, I now believe, that he didn’t want to waste time with words, when actions saved many a line.

As the years went by with time, my little wonder boy did shine, he could play the piano, loved Math and Algebra, grammar School was a breeze, he entered College at eight years old with ease. Today he is a Professor at an Institute of Divinity. I had sowed good and reaped a bountiful harvest, good fruit from God, he made me to be a “Good” tree.

*This poem is based upon true events, if you do an online search you will find an article about a moderate to severe autistic young boy who is College Professor today with many Degrees. God blesses the lowly, confuses the self-righteous wise, and their rotten fruit.

The Bible quotes Jesus as saying; A good tree bears good fruit; a rotten tree bears rotten fruit; therefore, you shall know the good and evil by their fruit.
