autumn leaves

by Mortal Utopia   Jun 12, 2018

your leaves
(when they part with you in autumn)
fly by, on estranged wings as shy
and entangled as butterflies (that fade) -

strung, tied, dependent
on the voice of the wind that lulls and soothes
(the voice that sang the songs
that made you cry).
