Addiction can..

by Michael   Jun 12, 2018

..break me down with the slightest touch,
and leave me leant upon a crutch.
Then i’ll hobble to No-Mans-land
where shores are rife, with sinking sand
and no one there to lend a hand-
only me, and my one-man-band.

But soon enough the place will thrive
many like me will then arrive.
i’ll play a fiddle pull some string
hope my queen will beat their king,
flaps are heard from a vultures wing
the morning chorus they now sing.

They’ll circle the skies way above
licking their beaks for scraps of love.
I’ll hold onto my second thought
and dodge that lonely dark resort.
Keep away from that slightest touch
depend on me and not a crutch!

Finally...

..Is an addiction, a disease
or disguising a comfort ease?
bringing a weakness to our knees.
One thing I feel is fair and true
the only one cure for sure is you!
