Drums Of War

Inside my mind,
There is a war.
Making tallies;
Keeping score.
Pounding drum beats,
Drawing near.
Listen closely,
Can't you hear?

It rages on,
A battle fierce.
Within this heart,
Are pains that pierce.
Depression has me,
It's here to stay.
I fight this battle,
Everyday.

I pray to God,
On what to do.
To show a light;
To see me through.
To help before,
I lose this war.
For my soul can't take this-
Anymore.
