You Are My Sunset

by Mahal Ko Kuya Ko   Jun 18, 2018

Sunset, I've known you for so long --
a distant mirage, a forgotten song.
And we were poets by the sleeping sea,
and blood brothers by the raging sea.

The days we used to play in the mud,
they are hard to throw away;
the seasons I was nothing but sad,
you'd always known what to say.

And the dandelions resting in me,
they are starting to wither;
the vividly-blue and poetic sea,
is our friend, our father.

For you, Sunset, I'll always long...
for you are a mirage, a forgotten song.
Always blood brothers by the raging sea,
forever poets by the sleeping sea.
