Someone Subtle

by Larry Chamberlin   Jun 27, 2018

Someone turned their back today
someone else had to die
someone lost hope of finding a way
someone near had to try

Someone found love for life
someone went hungry again
someone grew old in strife
someone could not ever win

Hiding among sharp-rock shores
a glint of light reveals a lone pearl
when aches knock us to all fours
don’t miss the joy as tides unfurl

I really love this. So thoughtful and beautiful, and I love the way you used of repetition and rhyme.

Larry, loved the thought behind this. No matter what life throws at you, don't give up and look forward to the next day and those hidden gems that gift us when we least expect it.
