Be okay with my ups and downs
Life is full of tragedy
But know that I am trying
The goodness of life to see
"It's often what you focus on"
I heard it many times before
But that doesn't take away
The storms forming on distant shores
Melancholy state of nature
Perhaps it part of who I am
Perhaps it's the cards dealt
Of a life born damned
The clouds are dark and grey
Yet silver-lined throughout
Know there is hope in my heart
Even if my mind is filled with doubt
The past cannot be erased
The future cannot be seen
But I will try with all my might
To change what it means
