Time will heal

by Rey Severs   Jul 8, 2018

My scars and secrets I'll no longer hide,
I'm not broken, merely damaged inside,
I'll no longer suffer or hold onto pain,
I'll let myself heal, I'll let go once again.

Some ears will refuse to hear my side,
But who cares for the ignorant? I'm happy and alive!
Some people deny their damages, they're blind to what's amiss,
Not me, I see damages and know theyll be fixed.

Give love where you can, make others smile,
But don't forget time to yourself for a while,
Ignore the ones attempting to remove your grin,
They're nasty and weak, don't let them in.

Seek pity on those who need to lie to be heard,
Sit back and laugh, the stories funny, absurd!
Carry on in life removing knives from your chest,
At first it will ache, in the end for the best.

Be warm to the kind, ice to the others,
Save your temple only for lovers,
Work on who you are, embrace what you know,
Take your time, remember to slow.

Remember who you are, not what is expected to be,
Remember the perfections that make me, me
Life is full of lessons, some hurt more than ever,
But pain is skin deep, happiness is forever.

Seek pity on those who need to lie to be heard...
That line reached within my chest and tugged at my very soul.
