Like a poem

If only life was like a poem
And the words we wrote came true.
We’d all be authors of own story
And I would live with you.

We’d have a bright, modern house
Maybe by the sea,
And spend all day together
Just you and me.

Money wouldn’t be a problem
We could please ourselves each day
The kids would all be happy
With endless time to play.

I’d always be in perfect health
Ready to do all the things I love
Me and you together
Fitting like a glove

But all poems need a good ending
And so do we.
Shall we write it ourselves?
If so....what’s it going to be?
